International Trails Day

The first Saturday in June, this year 04 June, has been celebrated since 1990 as the annual day of trails.. Specifically , this day aims to promote the healthy lifestyle that trails encourage. Physical activity helps your health and doing it in the clean outdoors benefits your well being.

Residents of Squamish do not need much prompting to use our vast network of trails. The past two years of the pandemic have seen a large increase in the number of people on your trails. The Squamish Trails Society (STS) is committed to maintaining your recreational trails and undertakes an annual program to keep the trails safe for all to use..

The Squamish Trails Society urges people to get out on this special day. Do enjoy your favorite hike or try some new location; like the improved Amblepath, Swan, Wonderland or Dipper trails. People using mobility assisted devices , in particular mothers with baby strollers , will find the new ramp down from the dike to the Mashiter Spawning Channel trails a smooth improvement..

International Trails Day is intended to promote public awareness of and appreciation for recreational trails and the people who build and maintain your trails .
