Sea to Sky Trail work completed

The sea to Sky trail north of Starvation Lake is now clear of the windfalls that came down over the past two years. Squamish Trails Society was able to coordinate the activities of various groups to remove three large trees on Tuesday, 27 April.. The competent fellers from Silverback Tree Services cut up the dangerous trees and with the assistance of six members of the Over the Hill Hikers and cleared the trail section of debris.. Approval for the work came from SLRD Trails and BC Recreation Sites. Funding was provided by the SORCA Trails crew. The main ingredient came from CN Rail as they waived the permit fee, arranged for no rail traffic on the work day, and had a safety and flagging team on site. It was all done in a fine spirit of cooperation, with a fine group of workers, in fine weather and on a fine recreational trail. The Sea to Sky trail is our 30 km section of the Great Trail, also known as the Trans Canada Trail.
