Pitch In Week April 22-29 2017
STS is again joining as active participant in this the 50th year of Canada's largest environmental improvement campaign. Volunteers will work together to collect litter and recyclable materials in our community. We plan to place special emphasis on trail borders, ravines and riparian zones in the Estuary. Many volunteers will make for smaller work packages.
STS is joining with SES, Squamish Environmental Society, and will work under their coordinator, Carl Halvorson. Rendezvous place is at the west end of Bailey St at the railway crossing. Time to start is 1400 or 2 pm, Sunday, 23 April. Duration of about two hours is intended.
Wear waterproof footwear and long trousers. Plastic collection bags and gloves will be provided. A couple of pickup trucks would be appreciated. Children are encouraged to attend and will be supervised.
Hopefully our efforts will inspire others and remind all that human beings are responsible for maintaining our clean and healthy ecosystem
